MLE Pyrotechnics Limited was formed in 1999 although members of our team have been working in the firework industry for many years longer. We are a very dynamic and modern company constantly thinking of new ideas and ways to improve what we supply.

Because we use the material in our own displays we only buy from the very best factories. Pricing doesn't shape what we buy, infact we don't even bargain with our suppliers.

Yaqi joined MLE in 2005 and has been working with us on displays ever since. Having a Chinese member of staff on our display and purchasing team allows us to have very precise features and details manufactured exactly how we want them. Each year we visit factories with new ideas and effects and sample them to see if they work out as good as they seem on paper. Only the best from each factory is imported into the UK, and of course we use multiple factories allowing us to cherry pick the best items from each one.

We also design and manufacture one of the worlds most advanced digital control systems - FireByWire. This technology develops as our displays do and we are often complimented as being one of few companies in this field to actually listen to customers feedback and take it seriously. The other part of our business is the organisation of outdoor events from start to finish. Firework Champions is currently run at 3 venues across the UK offering the audience the chance to see some of the UK's best displays all on the same night. A little about our products

We are very particular about what we import. We concentrate on trying to provide the very best available which sometimes means a reduction in variation. Some items sound great on paper and add to the range of variations - but we'd rather not bother if it's not up to scratch. That's why you won't find blue comet candles or some effects in smaller calibres in our catalogue.

The next step is to make the item as practical as possible given the physics involved and of course the UK weather. For example we've worked hard to make everything arrive pre-waterproofed. We provide in and out fuses where appropriate. We import "wedding packs" for the companies that do a lot of wedding displays.

Leaders are full length and always waterproofed - no annoying green visco fuse to cut off, you won't find that on any of our CAT4 items. Shells come in handy assorted cartons with a sensibe number of variations inside. 75mm shells are supplied with tails on 1/2 the shells in the box. Perhaps one of our most popular features - all shells come "pre-stripped", 20mm of exposed blackmatch on the end of each leader.
